One of the common issues with building an arena or all-weather school is creating a flat enough area on which to construct. Where the land isn’t flat the traditional method is to “Cut and Fill” (digging out the higher ground to build up the lower ground). However, there is another, better option; building up the area with recycled soil to create a flat plateau, this is far cheaper and more environmentally friendly than digging up the existing ground.
Millions and millions of tons of soil are generated each year by the construction industry. This soil, is an unwanted by-product material which builders pay to have taken away and much of it finds its way into landfill. The government have created a licencing system, avoiding landfill tax, designed to reuse this resource rather than drive it for miles and dump it in a hole. To meet these criteria stringent tests must be passed; the soil is tested to make sure that it is compatible and of the same or better quality than the soil at the recipient site.
Where there is a reasonable fall in the ground these projects can often be cost neutral using a reengineered system and even relatively flat ground can produce massive savings with our system compared to traditional excavation.
All our projects are licenced by the Environment Agency and approved by local authorities. We can work with your own preferred contractors or engage our own approved contractors and licenced hauliers, to ensure that your project is completed to the highest standard, at the very best value.
Soil Reengineering Systems is a broker and as such we do not have our own sites, plant or lorries. This means we can always utilise the best option available. Please contact us to arrange a free advisory visit.
