Did you know that Animalintex®, the world renowned multi-layered poultice and wound dressing from Robinson Animal Healthcare can be used to treat a wide range of conditions?

It is highly absorbent, extremely versatile and can be applied either as a wet, hot or cold poultice, or as a dry dressing to suit the needs of the injury.

As a hot wet poultice Animalintex® can be used to treat the following conditions:

  • Bruises
  • Infected dirty wounds
  • Cracked heels
  • Mud fever
  • Laminitis
  • Boils
  • Abscesses
  • Puncture of the foot
  • Sandcrack
  • Thrush
  • Infected corns
  • Bruised sole
  • Seedy toe
  • Contusions
  • Quittor abscesses
  • Removing thorns

A cold wet poultice can help ease:

  • Sprains, strains and sore shins
  • Capped hocks and elbows
  • Splints
  • Laminitis

Use dry Animalintex® for pressure padding after training, for slight strains, windgalls, and thoroughpin and can also be applied directly to a wound as an absorbent dry dressing.

The dressing contains Boric Acid BP, an active ingredient that minimises infection and promotes healing, and tragacanth, a natural poulticing agent that draws infection out of the wound.

Animalintex® is the original and only licensed absorbent poultice on the market for the treatment of canine and equine wounds and is sold as a 41cm x 21cm dressing, which can be cut to the size and shape needed.

Animalintex® retails at around £5.50.
