Event horse ownership made accessible for all with the launch of the Event Horse Owners Syndicate

Exciting new equestrian business, the Event Horse Owners Syndicate (EHOS) launched last week, giving eventing fans the chance to buy a share in event horses ridden by some of the UK’s leading event riders from just £68! With Team GB’s Laura Collett and the ever-popular Ben Hobday already signed up to produce and ride EHOS horses and more leading riders in the pipeline, this new business connects grassroots eventing fans with the thrills of ownership in a totally new way for the sport. EHOS was inspired by the syndicates which have transformed racehorse ownership and opened up racing to so many more people, and the team behind EHOS are excited to bring the model to the much-loved sport of eventing.

EHOS shares start from just £68 for the syndicate period (usually 12 months) with no annual membership fee or ongoing monthly costs to worry about. The syndicate members will get access to an exclusive owners’ area of the EHOS website, where they will find weekly updates on their horse including updates from the rider, videos and photographs. Each horse will each have their own competition diary on the site too, with videos of dressage tests, showjumping rounds and as much cross-country action as possible for owners who can’t attend an event.

At events EHOS will share a time and location for owners to meet each other and arrange a Q&A with their horse’s rider at a set point during the day. Ticketed events will be allocated by ballot to ensure fair and equal chances of access. In addition, EHOS will host an annual yard visit for members and give them priority access to training clinics with their rider. The EHOS team will ensure all activities adhere to the regulations and guidelines regarding safe Covid-19 practices in place at the time of an event.

EHOS was founded by Jack Pryor and Megan Sanders who, having worked in racing and competed in eventing respectively, saw a clear opportunity to combine the racing syndicate model with event horse ownership. The duo hopes to be able to give eventing fans the chance to experience the thrills of ownership as they see their horse progressing through the ranks with their rider. Jack and Megan comment:

“We are really excited to be bringing this model of ownership to eventing and hope that it will give like-minded eventing enthusiasts the opportunity to be involved in the sport like never before. We have some amazing riders lined up and we hope that with their help we can progress our horses to the top level of the sport!”
