PERFORMANCE footwear brand Grub’s teamed up with the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I) for Welly Week.

Throughout the event, the Grub’s team ran prize draws offering people the chance to win a pair of fabulous wellies during Monday to Friday of the campaign.

The R.A.B.I provides financial support to farming people in hardship, giving out around £2m per year. Farmers, businesses, YFCs and individuals donned wellies to show their support for the farming community during the successful R.A.B.I Welly Week.

The Wynnstay Group raised £458 with their own Welly Week promotion while LG Seeds organised ‘welly wanging’ and held a ‘where’s welly?’ competition to raise £300.

Mole Avon Trading staff donated £1 each to wear wellies to work and also held a competition in-store to name a dog made of wellies. They also donated 50p to R.A.B.I for every pair of wellies sold during Welly Week.

Henley YFC organised a bonfire and fireworks evening, donating all proceeds to R.A.B.I, whilst numerous other businesses got involved in the campaign by wearing wellies to work, posting photographs to social media and holding other welly-themed events.

Suzy Deeley, R.A.B.I corporate development manager, said: “I woykd like to thank everyone who contributed to such a successful Welly Week. We have raised thousands of pounds and spread the word about our work to a vast new audience.

“Many people outside of the farming world do not necessarily know much about what we do and the support we offer to people of all ages who are going through difficult times, often through no fault of their own. Thanks to Welly Week we raised great awareness for the charity which was a key goal for the campaign.”

Said Jan Foster of Grub’s: “R.A.B.I is a fantastic charity, supporting farming families in hardship. Grub’s believes that investing in the future of farming is the way to maintain our countryside communities and help them thrive in years to come. The team at Grub’s also wore our wellies to work to support the campaign.”

The Grub’s brand has been developed more than eight generations of family history and tradition in design and production of performance footwear.
