Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire is opening its doors to prospective students in September and October, making it the only higher education institution in the region thought to be holding live open events this autumn.

The internationally-recognised countryside campus, part of WCG (formerly Warwickshire College Group) and home to its land-based courses, is taking extra steps to ensure its degree level open events can go ahead safely.

Staggered start times and pre-booking for smaller group tours have been introduced for the events taking place on Saturday, September 26 and Saturday, October 17, to adhere to the government’s new ‘rule of six’.

Set in over 750 acres, the college with a working farm, equine and animal centres, and other specialist land-based learning facilities has the space to accommodate socially-distanced visits.

Visitors will be able to find out about degree level study options in animal and canine, equine, veterinary nursing and veterinary physiotherapy.

Mark Whittaker, Head of Marketing at WCG, said: “Due to recent government guidance regarding small group gatherings, we have rearranged the logistics of the on-site open events to ensure they can go ahead safely.

“The events are free but students need to pre-book a specific time slot so that each group will be restricted to six people including a guide.

“They will still be able to look around all of the facilities and get a really good feel for what it would be like to study with us at Moreton Morrell College.  Due to the nature of the campus, the facilities and land-based study focus, it needs to be seen.

“Subject tutors will be conducting ‘talk and tours’ so information about courses will be delivered as they walk around the campus, and they will also be able to look around the residential and student facilities in a controlled manner.”

Booking is required in advance for both open events, which will run from 10am to 2pm, via https://wcg.ac.uk/page/625/degree-open-event
