Wyoming’s TX Ranch is a genuine working cattle ranch, its 35,000 acres straddling the Wyoming-Montana border. Owned and operated by the Tillett family for over four generations, the TX has been opening its doors to guests for over thirty years.

An exciting opportunity for riders who want to start out or progress their horsemanship skills, riding holiday specialist, Ranch Rider is introducing two exciting seven night horsemanship and colt starting clinics at the ranch, departing on 07 and 14 July.

The instructor for the ranch holiday will be Sam Wagler, an accomplished horseman with experience in a wide ranging number of areas from traditional Amish uses of horsemanship to reining, as well as roping and ranch work. Sam is also Lyons Legacy Certified and Accredited.

Sam will use his horsemanship skills while working the ranch’s young and often barely started colts - his instruction throughout the clinic delivered at each individual’s pace, so both the horse and the rider are confident and comfortable with each other.

A highlight of the clinic will be ground work, as Sam believes having a good foundation on the ground is the key to the success of any clinic – his focus on bridle work, saddling the horse, lunging/round penning, and getting the horse soft and flexible.

Guests will also work in the corral/pen, where horses will learn to understand cues, and when horse and rider are comfortable and working well together as a team they will begin to ride outside and often join the wranglers in the daily ranch work.
