Moorcroft Equine Rehabilitation Centre Showcase Day May 2023

If you would like to learn about many of the available rehabilitation techniques that you can employ for various ailments and lameness issues, please join us for our Showcase Day on Saturday 20th May where you can see the horses working at various stages of healing and rehabilitation.

Moorcroft Rehabilitation Centre in Slinfold, West Sussex is a Highly Commended BHS approved Rehabilitation Centre. It is run by a dedicated, passionate team who live on site and have the horses welfare as their top priority. Each horse is treated as an individual and given ample time to reach their full potential.

Mary, Lianne, and the team at Moorcroft have unique evidence-based assessments, allowing a true picture of how the horses are doing, which allows them to adjust the horses rehab program as required. The facilities at Moorcroft are fantastic, they have two arenas, both purpose built with different surfaces to support a range of injuries.

Moorcroft is working with EMCyte Regenerative Technologies and SCS-C.I.C. who are sole distributor for EmyCyte Technologies for equine in the UK, will be presenting at the event sharing a wealth of information on their PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatments which are now available at Moorcroft.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Platelet rich plasma consists of two elements: plasma, or the liquid portion of the blood and concentrated platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body.

Platelets are well known for their clotting ability, but they also contain growth factors and cell signallers that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration. Platelet rich plasm is simply blood that contains concentrated platelets.

EmCyte have developed a system where a horse’s own blood is taken by a Vet, they then concentrate the plasma and platelets and the Vet in attendance re-injects the concentrated platelets into the affected area.

We look forward to sharing our methods for achieving soundness and healthier horses and there will be plenty of time and opportunity to have all your questions answered.

Tickets for the Showcase Day are just £30 and can be booked online at: www.moorcroftracehorse.org.uk
