The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) is delighted to share that the first BETA Safety Conference will take place on 21st April 2026 at Loughborough University – and you’re invited.

The one day event is packed with expert speakers from all over the world, sharing their knowledge on a range of subjects from latest standards and innovations to fitting an increasingly diverse rider population, research around the functionality and efficacy of safety equipment, developments around angular impacts and rotational forces, and plenty more besides.

“The BETA Safety Conference has been created due to popular demand with the clear objective of helping to support all parts of the trade through providing useful information that will tangibly help with sales, fitting, safety, and supporting customers in making more informed choices,” said Claire Williams, Executive Director of BETA. “BETA is known for safety – setting the standard when it comes to body protectors and being involved in international committees arounds hats and other safety equipment. We offer training and support for our membership, and being able to provide a way of sharing research and information that will help our members and their customers too is very much what we as an association are all about.”

The conference programme has been designed to provide enormous value to members of the  trade (including retailers and distributors) as well as members of riding bodies and disciplines, coaches, and riding school proprietors with an interest in increasing knowledge and understanding of rider safety.  CPD points will be available for those who attend.

An early bird discount is currently available to BETA members, allowing them to secure a place at the conference for £90(+VAT) if booked before 27th February 2026, when it will increase to £99(+VAT). For non-members, the early bird price is £120(+VAT) going up to £130(+VAT) on 27th February 2026. This price includes a buffet style lunch, the full programme, and opportunities to connect and network with peers.
