The Bucas Irish Leg Warmer is the ideal riding accessory for wet, cold winter days.

The rug is designed to offer protection and warmth to the horse and rider in a clever and innovative ‘all in one’ design.

The Legwarmer is a multi - functional riding rug that can offer rider protection when needed or can be rolled up to keep the legs free.

The rug is placed on the horse after it is tacked up. A hook and loop fastening at the chest (the same as a traditional horse rug) secures the front and also makes it easy to put on and remove. The rest of the rug rolls back over the horse, leaving the saddle area open and the quarters covered.

The rider leg warmers are independent sections that are attached to the shoulders of the rug and once unrolled cover the entire leg area from waist to stirrups. The leg warmers are secured by plastic clips, mounted onto hook and loop fabric, behind the rider to the back part of the rug to prevent flapping about when riding. They are designed to come apart should an accident occur when riding.  An elasticated part at the waist gives freedom and comfort and enables the rider to use this unique rug for all sorts of activities including, hacking, schooling, galloping and jumping.

The leg warmers can be easily unfastened, rolled up and secured by the clip fastenings to the rug in front of the rider’s leg when not in use. This can be done while mounted.

The rug is secured to the horse by a rear filet string and a single elasticated surcingle at the girth area.

Made from a rip-stop nylon outer the Leg Warmer Rug is breathable and waterproof. It features a silky lining and 50g of insulation to keep you warm and protected against the elements

An ingenious idea from Bucas the makers of the world’s most intelligent horse rugs.
