Hartpury University is supporting the UK Equine Student Conference 2020 to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with an opportunity to present research during the coronavirus pandemic.
Following the cancellation of other key events, the virtual Conference has been arranged so students can still have access to an impactful and stimulating forum, despite the current restrictions, to share knowledge and support improvements within the industry.
The UK Equine Student Conference 2020, which is open to all UK equine undergraduate and postgraduate students, will be hosted online via Zoom Webinars on Eventbrite on Wednesday 15 July from 10am to 4pm.
The organising committee includes three members of the academic team at Hartpury University – the world’s largest equine educational establishment: Dr Jane Williams, Associate Professor and Head of Research at Hartpury; Kirsty Lesniak, Senior Lecturer in Equine Science; Gillian Tabor, Programme Manager, Equine Department.
Dr Jane Williams said: “For many students, the opportunity to attend a conference and present their work is an important part of the culmination of their studies.
“Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic that has affected so many aspects of our lives has meant that many conferences, including those we were due to host at Hartpury this year, have been postponed or cancelled.
“Everyone on the organising committee was really keen to provide their equine students with an opportunity to present their research, albeit in a virtual space, to make sure they didn’t miss out during these difficult times.
“We’re delighted that registration is now open and we’re looking forward to welcoming a wide range of ground-breaking research related to all aspects of the equine industry.”
