Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) 2025 is proud to welcome eventing great William Fox-Pitt and his wife Alice as they take to the Andrews Bowen International Arena on Thursday 9th October to present a landmark masterclass at HOYS for the very first time.
This engaging session will showcase Chilli Morning IV, the clone of William’s legendary five-star winner Chilli Morning. Bred by Chris and Lisa Stone, the striking chestnut stallion – affectionately known as “Quattro” – mirrors the original with his white blaze and powerful presence. Now eight years old and ridden by Gemma Stevens, Quattro celebrated a major victory in 2024 with a win at the Le Lion d’Angers 4*, cementing his growing reputation on the international stage.
In this special presentation, William will reflect on his experiences with both the original Chilli Morning – whom he began riding at age 12 – and the clone, whom he has ridden from an earlier age. The comparison offers valuable insight into the influence of breeding, early training, physical development, and instinctive feel in producing top-level competition horses.
Joining him is Alice Fox-Pitt, former international event rider and accomplished presenter, who will help guide the session and share further context from their work together in equestrian sport. Their combined experience and perspectives promise an informative and inspiring hour for riders, breeders, and fans alike.
"I’m really excited to be back at HOYS 2025 and to be presenting a masterclass in such an iconic arena,” said William. “Chilli Morning played such a key role in my career, so working with his clone and reflecting on their development side-by-side has been a fascinating journey.”
The session will also feature a second horse – currently being kept under wraps – adding an exciting element of surprise for the audience on the day.
Don’t miss this standout feature of HOYS 2025, bringing world-class insight and top sport horse talent to the heart of the Andrews Bowen International Arena.
