Three equestrian businesses received offers to support their business’s growth and development at the inaugural Mustangs’ Corral held at BETA International 2026.
Four businesses pitched live in front of David Mitson (HLM Investment Group, who own brands including evoke, Science Supplements and Westgate), Joanna Jensen (founder Childs Farm), and Michael Darley (Country Direct). For the victors, there was the chance to secure real investment up to £250,000, as well as mentoring, industry contacts, and networks that money can’t buy.
The finalists were Cross Section Equestrian, SealStop, Neigh Tangles, and Stud Fast with the three latter businesses receiving offers.

SealStop pitched for £200,000 to help take their innovative water saving device to the next level. They were offered £100,000 for an equity stake. Of the pitch, co-founder Belle Richardson said: “It went really well, I was pleased with the feedback, it was great. I had some questions that were challenging and made me think about where I am in the business, what I want, and I was really pleased with the outcome.” Of the offer, Belle said: “It gives you that validation that the route we’re taking and what we’ve created has a need and a purpose, and they obviously believe it’s got scalability.”
Eleanore Kelly pitched Stud Fast, the first non-metal stud made from a polymer designed to promote horse welfare through the reduction of injury. “I think it was fantastic, I slightly fumbled the numbers but to get the opportunity, even if I hadn’t had the offer of investment, to talk about something I really believe in is fantastic for me. I really am passionate about improving the welfare and safety element and I think this is the perfect platform to do that.” She received an offer for £50,000 for an equity stake with additional benefits including access to a global distribution network.
The final brand to get investment was Neigh Tangles, founded by Holly and Sadie, who are 11 and 15. This detangler brand started with £600 and has grown through direct sales and being stocked in five tack shops in Scotland. David offered to support the girls financially with product development costs and suggested Joanna supported with her formulation expertise to increase the range, and Michael helped with his sales network. Of the offer, the girls commented: “We’re extremely excited to work with them all and see what we can do.”
David Mitson said of the contest: “What a great platform to showcase the amazing entrepreneurs that we have in the equestrian industry. There were some really good pitches and some products that I believe have amazing potential. They all did themselves proud and coped with the questions well in front of a live audience. They now have a short period of time to decide if they accept the offers of investment and I am sure it will be an exciting future for these brands regardless.”
