Are you looking for a romantic, special gift for your loved one or special friend? Do you enjoy riding holidays, but for some reason are unable to ride, perhaps down to illness, injury or pregnancy? Then this beautiful trip could be for you…

Why not consider a horse drawn carriage ride at Ireland’s luxurious Castle Leslie Estate?

This represents a journey back in time on an enchanting carriage ride through tree-lined avenues and bridleways. Guests can sit back and be charmed by what awaits them on a personal tour of one the most beautiful areas of this castle estate.

Our stately horse and experienced driver make this jaunt the perfect way to enhance your visit to the Estate. If you’ve never experienced such a trip, you’re in for a treat. Horse-drawn carriages belong to a mysteriously magical and nostalgic past: “The fresh and blooming fields... the scented hedgerows in May and June...the farmer’s children swinging on a gate,” said James Wilson Hyde in 1889. Over the centuries, a variety of carriages entered the mainstream; Joseph Hansom designed and patented the Hansom cab in 1834, and the horse and carriage still represents style, elegance and changing fashions.

Our carriage rides may be booked through reception, or directly with the Equestrian Centre. They’re subject to availability, and advance booking is essential. Price: €90 per Carriage Ride – The carriage seats 4 adults, or 2 adults and up to 2 children and has a 1 hour duration.
