Lara Dyson was over the moon to get placed in two classes at the recent British Dressage Winter Championships held at Hartpury College.

Riding Laura and Tracey Milner’s Jazzed Up, the pair secured 8th in the Elementary Open Music Freestyle and 5th in the Elementary Open both with scores of over 70%.

With not the easiest of draws, having to go early in both classes, Felix, as he is known at home, held his nerve in the unfamiliar surroundings of the Hartpury arena to perform two lovely tests, while also taking care of the precious cargo on-board as Lara was competing while 31 weeks pregnant.

Being so close to her due date means this was an extraordinary achievement for a very determined Lara, having qualified for the National Championships by winning three Regional titles at Bishop Burton, when many would have been at home resting.

Said Lara: “I am so grateful to Laura and Tracey for giving me the opportunity to train another horse to Regional titles and National qualification. He was so rideable in the arena, I absolutely love him, and have high hopes for the future, and I really feel he has the potential to one day compete internationally.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support during the last few weeks, the horses will now enjoy a few weeks in the field until after the baby is born.”
