There will be a presentation of Ramiro B and his progeny at 6.30pm, followed by a talk from Oliver Townend.

Number four on the WBFSH sire rankings for eventing stallions Ramiro B truly is something special, and is set to rise up the ranks this year following exceptional performances from numerous 3 and 4* level progeny this season.

The Grand Prix winning stallion not only has competition success to pass on to his offspring, he has fantastic good looks and excellent form with a truly special and sought after temperament that comes through in his progeny. He is an outstanding dual-purpose stallion for both eventing and show jumping and is well known for his long list of successful progeny.

Said owner Nina Barbour: “Ramiro B offspring have had a phenomenal year in 2018 and we really want to celebrate his success as a stallion and the results of his progeny.

“The mark he has made, especially in the worlds of eventing and show jumping is extremely special and we felt an evening to recognise his achievements would be brilliant.”

Examples of his offspring include the Oliver Townend rides Cooley SRS, second at Badminton this year and Lexington winner, Cooley Masterclass.

Owned by Angela Hislop, Cooley SRS is an Irish Sport Horse bred by John Fitzhenry. By Ramiro B, he is out of Ballynattin Pride and has been produced by Oliver from his early days.  He was his ride at the 2017 European Championships when winning team gold although Badminton was the horse’s first four-star.

The Badminton success followed celebrations a week earlier when another Ramiro B gelding, Cooley Masterclass and Oliver took victory in the 2018 Land Rover Kentucky CCI 4* title.

Said Oliver: “Both Cooley SRS and Cooley Master Class are fine examples of what a fantastic sire Ramiro B is.

“It is clear he produces great talent and strong sport horses that move and jump exceptionally well. Neither of these horses are out of full Thoroughbred mares and really prove that Ramiro B produces quality horses with the stamina to win at the highest level.”

Ramiro B was the first horse to have been made an ambassador with the BWP studbook due to his phenomenal breeding record.  His pedigree includes some of the best jumping lines including Belgium Warmblood and Holstein.

Event rider Georgie Strang is also a huge fan of the majestic bay stallion and said: “I have the pleasure to ride Cooley Earl and Red Hot Cooley both of which are sired by Ramiro B. He has definitely put his stamp on these two event horses with his good looks and excellent temperament.”

The evening will start with the chance to meet Ramiro B from 5pm in the Equestrian Complex at Bolesworth Castle (CH3 9HN), followed by an official parade at 6.30pm, and a display from some of his star progeny, and a talk by Oliver Townend.  Drinks and canapes will be served from 5pm and the evening will come to a close at 8pm.

Mare owners who attend the evening will have the chance to book a covering with Ramiro B for 2019 (Numbers will be strictly limited for next season) at the 2018 stud fee of £950 plus VAT.

To RSVP and confirm your attendance, email sarah@bolesworth.com before  November 23.
