International dressage riders Bobby Hayler and Gaby Lucas have achieved their goal of raising a fantastic £7000 in aid of Against Breast Cancer.

The final push for fundraising took place with a charity barn dance held at Team Hayler’s Essex base, Jubilee Farm on Saturday 29th August. A fun filled evening was had by all with traditional barn dancing, a hog roast and a bucking bronco; the latter attracting many dressage riders to test their skills in ‘stickability’!

Gaby was the first to announce the staggering total on Facebook

We have done it!!!  We have raised over £7,000.00 for Against Breast cancer and we couldn't have done it without everyone's support. We would like to thank everyone who has generously donated, including sponsors and supporters for not only donating  cash to the charity but also for supplying some amazing raffle  prizes.”

The pair, who are both members of the Team GB World Class Dressage Development programme, are now set to take part in a once in a lifetime trek across the Kalimantan Jungle in Borneo starting on the 7th November.  The trip will comprise 10 days trekking through dense jungle for 8 hours a day carrying kit and staying in very basic accommodation. As well as the tough physical challenges that lie ahead, Gaby and Bobby will also experience a very different way of life living with families from the local Dayak tribe.

Following the trek, they will spend 4 days in Borneo at an Orang-Utan sanctuary for some well earned rest and relaxation.
