Last month, SMB College Group’s Equine Centre hosted a British Horse Society Training Day!

The training day was an opportunity for students to learn about the range of BHS qualifications they can achieve while studying their college courses.

Extended Diploma Equine student, Junior Statham, said “The BHS training day was a really informative day that’s really helped me to understand how accessible stage 2 qualifications are. It was a great day to get to know my peers from across all the different levels, too.

“I particularly enjoyed watching the last session, in which riders wore gadgets that bleeped if they did a certain thing (for example, looking down). Overall it was a really brilliant day which made me appreciate the BHS and Brooksby that little bit more.”

Equine Centre Coordinator, Sally Warren, said “It was great to hold a day like this, so that students can see other qualifications they are able to achieve whilst studying their college courses. Having Sam York, who is a Fellow of The British Horse Society, giving such positive feedback to our students and horses was amazing.”
