Horse of the Year Show is pleased to welcome back the British Show Pony Society as class sponsors in 2020. The British Show Pony Society Children’s Riding Pony of the Year will take place in the TopSpec Arena at HOYS in October.

Since its establishment in 1949, the British Show Pony Society has endeavoured to promote classes and competitions for Children’s Riding Ponies. Over the years this has extended to include the promotion of Show Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies and Mountain and Moorland Ponies. With 23 regional areas plus a Scottish branch, the Society’s Committees organise Area Shows, Training Days and Social Events for their members. Society members can qualify for the biggest equestrian events in the UK through BSPS organised shows which include their Winter Championship Show in April, Summer qualifying Series with Summer Championship in August, as well as the Heritage Championships in October.

The Horse of the Year Show 2019 British Show Pony Society Children's Riding Pony of the Year title went to Charlotte Caulfield’s Stretcholt New Dimension, having been backed only a year prior to the championship.

Karen Ward, BSPS Company Secretary commented “The BSPS are delighted to be a sponsor at HOYS again and are very pleased to support the Children’s Riding Pony classes and to promote top class showing with quality ponies.”

Event Director, Emma Williams, added: “The work that the British Show Pony Society has undertaken for the benefit of showing and children’s riding ponies over the years is profound and so we could not think of a more fitting sponsor for the class. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the society this season.”

Horse of the Year Show takes place from 7th-11th October 2020 at the Resorts World Arena, the NEC Birmingham bringing another year of breath-taking displays and unbeatable competition.
