LEADING dressage stallion Cyden Bodyguard Moorland is proving to be a sire of successful progeny, with some of his offspring turning out impressive results in the competition arena.

Bodyguard’s own pedigree - by Gribaldi x Negro x Cocktail, closely relates him to some of the best dressage horses of the modern era, including Moorlands Totilas and the current holder of every major title and the horse responsible for bringing dressage to the masses, Valegro.

Currently competing at Prix St Georges and Inter 1 level with owner Lara Dyson, Bodyguard’s offspring are displaying his own fantastic temperament and trainability.

At just nine-years-old he has already produced 60 offspring in The Netherlands, including graded KWPN-approved stallion Guardian S.

His youngstock include:

Gladstone

Gladstone, by Bodyguard, out of a Sandro Hit mare has recently won the Shearwater Young Dressage Horse Championships for four-year-olds in a class of 29 exciting young prospects for the future, at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage.

Ridden by Nick Lawson and part owned by himself and Hannah Dovey, the stallion was bought by Nick as an unbroken colt, just five months ago.

Nick said: “William, as he is known at home has an exceptionally trainable temperament; our next steps are to qualify William at Novice for the regional’s and look to licensing him next spring, we are so excited to see what the future holds.”

Florance Christi

Florance Christi by Bodyguard was imported into the UK from Holland by dressage rider Christine Cockerton, after previously trying 24 other horses in both Holland and Germany.

Fristi, as she is known at home, is out of a Lancet dam and was purchased by Christine from Bodyguard’s previous owner Peter van de Sande in Holland.

Currently competing at Novice level and in Young Horse classes the pair has already qualified for the Shearwater National and International Finals.

She won her debut Novice test on a score of 80%, which included five nines.

Frisiti’s major achievement to date has been a sixth placing in the Hickstead National Young Horse five-year-old Championship and Reserve Champion in the International Final, this time with Alex Hardwick in the saddle.

Christine said: “Fristi has been described as a pocket rocket and is very responsive and exciting to ride.  I have had some lovely compliments from everyone I have had lessons with; I am hoping she has real potential to go far.”

Frozen semen is available from all three Cyden Stallions, KWPN-approved Cyden Bodyguard Moorlands, Cyden Cadans M and NWPCS approved pony stallion Cyden Oostings Amigo.
