The Equestrian Index has tracked GITB  down to their base in the Isle of Ely.

Here's their report

EI: When we first came across you, it was the name that sounded different, what's behind it?

GITB: When we started six years ago, we wanted to call ourselves Give it Some Welly...

EI: For the idea of pulling off your stuck on boots...

GITB: ….yes and of getting the boot jack to do the work and making it easy...

EI: ..so what happened?..

GITB:..well we found some nightclub in New Zealand or somewhere had the domain name, so we moved sideways a bit, and came up with Give it the Boot.

EI: Ok, but has this name had any issues?

GITB: Well a couple of years ago we had loads of hits from Scandinavian and Russian based websites linked to fighting computer games and such stuff, not what we were really looking for! It's settled down now, thank goodness.

EI: So what are you doing now?

GITB: Recently we've developed a promotional boot jack for companies, the company logo is printed onto a sticker..

EI: A decal?

GITB: ..yes that's the correct term, the decal is applied to the boot jack and away you go, an advertising product which is affordable, effective and different. They give an instant impact and a lasting presence.

EI: And they do that well, don't they! Plus they are light to carry as they are a traditional size.

GITB: Yes, that’s right. We also make and paint by hand, jacks which are a bit bigger.

EI: Ah, yes, we've seen them, they strike us as both a working jack and a gift idea in one.

GITB: Yes we find that they are popular for presents for birthdays but they have also been wedding presents and retirement gifts.

EI: And Christmas?

GITB: Absolutely, they make perfect presents for Uncle Brian and Aunty Jenny!

EI: We'll bear that in mind....a couple more questions perhaps, we see from your website that you have a range of country inspired themes, but what about customised ones?

GITB: I'm glad you asked, yes we do do customised ones; recently we did a wild boar which is going to France later this month as a gift for hunt organisers. Dogs have also been popular as of late, with the image used being taken from a photo.

EI: Great! What about next year?

GITB: Well we are hoping to develop a boot jack specifically for a hunting boot, strong and gentle at the same time.

EI: Well I'm sure our readers will be interested, please keep in touch!
