Teri England and Coady Bay Logic pulled it out of the bag following a mistake in the showjumping to win the Animalintex® sponsored BE 100 Open Championships at the Science Supplements Area Festival, held at Frickley Park.

Having not evented since last August due to a rotational fall, the pair were victorious in only their second outing having returned to competition at Speetly Equestrian Centre the previous week.

Eleven-year-old Logic was backed and brought through the ranks by Teri who bought the gelding as a five-year-old.

Said Teri: “It was an interesting day as Logic can be quite tense in the dressage but I was so pleased with him as we had managed to achieve an amazing walk! I made a couple of silly mistakes in the showjumping and he really helped me out. In the cross-country he was a dream ride, all I needed to do was point him in the direction of the fence and he did the rest with just a reassuring pat.

“I was delighted to secure the win, it was a lovely day, the going at Frickley Park was fab, the people were great and the prizes on offer were phenomenal. I would also like to thank the team at Redfox Equestrian who helped make all this possible for me to compete.”

The BE 100 Championship section was also sponsored by Animalintex® and was won by Ellie Healy from Hope Valley in Derbyshire with her chestnut, gelding, Class Move.

Following the dressage, the pair was in the middle of the board with a score of 36 but a clear round in the showjumping and the first combination to finish clear and inside the time in the cross-country saw them seal the victory.

Said Ellie: “I was absolutely thrilled with Wilson and so pleased to win. I saw the amazing prizes and the rug and sash the day before and said to my mum ‘I am going to win’ so it meant so much to actually fulfil my promise!”
