A triumphant 2nd place at Camphire International Horse Trials, Ireland, has topped off what has been an incredibly successful run of events for Wiltshire based event rider Flora Harris. Flora and Bayano (Barney), owned by Jane Keir and Caroline Harris steered their way to a top placing in what was Barney’s advanced debut at in the CIC3*.  The 8 year old Contendro gelding was previously showjumped as a youngster and took an impressive 7th place at last years 7 year old World Championships in Le Lion.

"I am over the moon with Bayano's performance at his first three star. He is a very exciting horse for the future and I am very grateful to the whole team at Camphire for putting on such a wonderful event. They worked tirelessly on the ground to ensure we had good going which certainly enabled my horse to compete at his best."

The placing comes after a notable season so far for all of Flora’s rides. Cesano H (aka Harry) claimed Hopetoun CCI2* just a fortnight ago, Flora’s first 3-day win. “Harry also had previous experience as a show jumper, but he began his eventing career with me. He gained advanced points within his first season and was aimed at 3-star this autumn until nasty case of Colitis has ended his season prematurely.”

Amazing III, owned by Caroline Harris and Sue Nicholls is proof of Flora’s pedigree as a producer of quality event horses. A very green 5yo, ‘Maisie’ has since made notable performances, including 6th Blenheim CIC***8/9yo 2013 and double clear Barbury CIC*** 2014. The mare is aimed at Blair CCI*** in August with hopes to qualify for Badminton 2014.
