2018 News & Trends - Authentic Ranchlands Camp Weeks

According to Ranch Rider, goal oriented travel will be trending in 2018, with many of us looking to take on fresh challenges in the saddle. If going cowboy (or cowgirl) up in North America is on your bucket list, the tour operator suggests heading for Colorado, as Ranchlands Camp will be introducing new branding and horsemanship experiences - the holidays closely tied to sustainable travel, another key trend for the coming year.

Ranchlands Camp is set in the eastern Colorado Prairie on the 87,000 acre Chico Basin Ranch, a working cattle ranch.

Tony Daly, comments, “Camping with a purpose, your holiday under canvas will be highly authentic, with seasoned professionals like Cameron Schryver, two-time World Champion Extreme Cowboy, giving you an insight into the nature of ranching, the role it plays in protecting the eco-system and the wildlife that it sustains.”

On the five night Branding Camp, guests will help to process, gather and brand the cattle - the day’s spent assisting with vaccinations and ear notching, holding the herd and checking fences and water. A major highlight on the holiday is the long trot to see the sunrise over the prairie while on the way to gather the cattle. Departing 13 May.

On the five night Horsemanship + Working Ranch Experience guests will apply working ranch horsemanship and riding by feel, allowing them to better understand and communicate with their horse. One-to-one horsemanship instruction and educational demonstrations are included in the holiday and there will be additional opportunities to work the cattle. Departing 06 May.

Five night Branding Camp & five night Horsemanship + Working Ranch Experience from £2,425pp (no single supplement). The price includes all meals, activities, private furnished tent (tastefully furnished by Filson) and gratuities. Excludes return flight from £945pp.

Daly comments, “Currently, we offer working ranch holidays across 13 U.S. States, but Colorado will be one to watch, as United Airlines will launch a new non-stop route from London Heathrow to Denver in March 2018.”
