Hannah Vincent and Jabberwocky were crowned Haygain® Hay Steamer Diamond Champions at the prestigious Blue Chip Championships, held at Hartpury Arena in Gloucestershire.

Based in Bunwell, Norfolk, 22-year-old Hannah, secured first place, after a very speedy jump-off with the talented black gelding.

Now 11-years-old, Jabberwocky (Ozzy) was on great form throughout the competition.

The Haygain® Hay Steamers Diamond Championship is aimed specifically at riders outside the top 200 on the British Showjumping ranking list, with the course set at 95cm high.

Hannah has been off the regular jumping circuit for the last eighteen months whilst she has dedicated her time to setting up her successful equestrian centre - Hot To Trot School Of Equitation based in Bunwell.

Hannah said “I'm delighted to be out jumping again, Ozzy is a tremendous horse, he always tries his very best and to win at Blue Chip is wonderful”.

Hannah had to qualify once at the Championships, jumping three competitions prior to the final, she won one, was fourth and tenth in the other two, this awarded her sufficient points to compete as one of the top twenty who went head to head in the indoor arena for the final.  Hannah was drawn 18th, having jumped clear she had a nail biting wait for her jump off round which was set a standard that none of the other competitors could match.

“Ozzy is very fast through the air and I got some really good turns, I was a bit long for the last, Ozzy took a tremendous leap at it!” added Hannah.

Becky James of Haygain® added: “We were delighted to sponsor this championship, it’s brilliant to see such a high standard of competitors and congratulations to Hannah and Jabberwocky.

“Kelvin and his team do such a fantastic job; the Blue Chip Winter Championships are a highlight of the calendar.  It was great to see the Haygain® Hay Steamer in the stables, it was well used by competitors all week and with four Haygain® Diamond classes to watch over the weekend we had a great show.”
