Europe’s largest equine education centre will lend its world-class facilities to British Showjumping after being selected as the group’s Regional Training Venue for the South West.

Throughout the year, various training courses will be held at Hartpury, which will include coaching, coach training, UKCC courses and assessments, CPD workshops, officials training and conferences and training for British Showjumping talent programmes.

British Showjumping will utilise Hartpury’s outstanding facilities including the 70m x 40m indoor and 80m x 60m outdoor international arenas alongside a further three indoor and two outdoor arenas. The equine centre’s other amenities, including the restaurant and hospitality boxes, which can double up as classrooms, will be used by the various courses throughout the year.

Director of Equine at Hartpury, Phillip Cheetham, said: “We are thrilled that Hartpury has been chosen as the 2017 Regional Training Venue. It is a wonderful addition to the Equine Centre and we are looking forward to welcoming coaches and riders throughout the year.”

Stephanie Toogood, from British Showjumping’s Sport Team, said: “We are delighted to have the wonderful facilities at Hartpury available to our members and coaches for training purposes. Centrally located within the region, we trust that it will prove a popular venue for the many training activities we have planned during 2017.”

This is not the first time Hartpury will link up with British Showjumping, with the partnership already seeing the Blue Chip Winter Championships hosted at the equine centre. Hartpury also host more than 60 competitions throughout the year from unaffiliated shows to national finals, as well as their own international events including the Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular (21st-23rd July), the Hartpury Festival of Dressage (5th-9th July) and the NAF Five Star Hartpury International Horse Trials which runs from the 9-13th August.
