Redwings Horse Sanctuary have fantastic news!
On 16 July 2026, the UK Government launched a public consultation to seek views on proposed reforms to fireworks regulations, including a reduction in the maximum noise level of consumer fireworks.
After all your efforts to support our petition and writing to your MPs, resulting in the compelling parliamentary debate in January, Westminster is taking this vital step towards the change that is so badly needed.
A public consultation gives you the chance to speak directly to Government officials about how important this is to you, no matter how you feel on the issue. We will be asking that the noise limit for fireworks be reduced to protect horses, other animals, vulnerable people and wildlife.
Public consultations are open to anyone. Charities, businesses, local groups and individuals can all respond. The consultation will run for 12 weeks, closing on 8th October.

Redwings will be responding as an organisation and not only share data and insights from our campaign, but also reflect our experiences of losing residents Sprite, Percy and beautiful Cinders (pictured) to fireworks.
They are just three of the many innocent horses who have died after being terrified by fireworks that simply didn't need to be so dangerously loud.
We know that many people who don't want tighter regulations will also be taking part so your views really do count!
