Horse of the Year Show announces Redwings Horse Sanctuary as Official Charity of the Year for 2026.
Horse of the Year Show is delighted to announce Redwings Horse Sanctuary as its Official Charity of the Year for 2026, bringing together two organisations united by their passion for horses and a commitment to their welfare.
Taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 7 - 11 October, HOYS will work alongside Redwings throughout this year’s show to raise awareness of equine welfare and support the charity’s vital work rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for horses, ponies, donkeys and mules across the UK.
Redwings is one of the UK’s largest horse welfare charities, responsible for more than 1,000 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Its work ranges from urgent welfare rescues and rehabilitation to lifelong sanctuary care, rehoming and providing expert welfare advice. The charity also campaigns on issues affecting equine welfare, helping to create a better future for horses across the UK.
The partnership will provide an opportunity for HOYS visitors to learn more about Redwings and find out how they can support the charity’s work beyond the show.
The partnership will also see HOYS support Redwings’ Keep Horses In Mind campaign, which highlights the impact fireworks can have on horses and encourages greater consideration for animals during celebrations. With the Government currently consulting on proposed changes to fireworks regulations, after Redwings secured a Parliamentary debate in January, HOYS will help the charity to raise awareness of the campaign and encourage its audience to learn more about how fireworks can affect horses.
