Are you considering a new bit for your horse?  The bit is a tool and comes in many designs and sizes, depending on the needs of horse and rider and what type of discipline you partake in. It is important to ensure you choose the right bit for you and your horse.

A Bomber Bit is entirely hand-crafted and has a lifetime guarantee. All the component parts are welded, formed and ground by hand.

Sweet iron is used, which is warmer than stainless steel and after treatment, gives off a striking and attractive deep blue tint. When the sweet iron comes into contact with moisture in the horse’s mouth, it oxidizes and this process changes the blue colour of the Bomber bit to a brownish grey. This is completely normal and the oxidised metal has a sweet taste which horses love and it encourages salivation which improves acceptance of the bit.

With a thorough understanding of the mechanics of various mouth pieces and cheek pieces, the correct bit can help adjust negative action of the horse’s head and position the head correctly. Together with our understanding of the disciplines, conformation of the various breeds and individuality of the rider, we have developed our extensive range of Bombers Bits.

Our sizes start at 90mm wide up to 170mm wide and the size of our bits is stamped on the left hand side of the mouth piece, which also indicates which way the bit should be fitted to the bridle to avoid incorrect usage.

Our range includes training and corrective bits that can help eradicate a problem, allowing the horse to continue on a conventional bit suited to its particular discipline.

We have been developing quality equine products for over 30 years and our focus is on providing innovative solutions to riders’ challenging problems. We believe in innovation combined with hand-made quality, attention to detail and testing by world class riders in a variety of disciplines.
