LEADING dressage riders including Laura Tomlinson, Michael Eilberg, Becky Moody and Charlie Hutton will be heading to Bolesworth International this summer.

For the very first time the event will host an all new dressage freestyle competition sponsored by premium online retailer Equestrian.com.

And with such well-known names taking part the competition looks set to be hotly contested for the £7,500 prize fund.

The Equestrian.com Intermediate 1 Dressage to Music competition will provide an exciting spectacle as part of the evening performance on Thursday June 18.

It is hoped that the inclusion of dressage this year will lead to Bolesworth staging international dressage competitions in the future.

Bolesworth International takes place at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire and is always a fantastic day out for all the family – June 18 to 21.

Dressage elite including London 2012 British team gold medallist Laura Tomlinson and 2013 European team bronze medallist Michael Eilberg, are among others who will all be vying to win the top prize of £2,500 which is one of the sport’s richest in this country.

Lorraine Meadowcroft of Equestrian.com said: “Last year’s Bolesworth International really set the horse world alight with excitement and buzz as it became a real talking point in the equestrian community. Dressage to music is always thrilling to watch and should add another fantastic element to the show which is sure to be popular with competitors and spectators alike.”

Dressage competitors will each perform a routine designed by themselves to specially choreographed music.  Their test must include specific movements which are at Intermediate 1 level. It gives the riders the opportunity to be creative and showcase their horse’s best talents as they dance to the music.

Besides the equestrian competitions, there will be extensive shopping and eating facilities available to enjoy along with lots more entertainment.
