 Leading Names Head to Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championship

WITH the new and exciting Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championship just days away leading riders, owners, studs and industry professionals are heading to Cheshire.

A host of high-class show jumping and equestrian sport combines with industry trade and networking – August 14 to 18 in the stunning grounds of Bolesworth Castle.

International riders making the journey include well-known names William and Pippa Funnell, highly regarded not only for their show jumping and eventing skills but also for their driving force behind the Billy Stud.

Always huge supporters of Bolesworth events, the legends that are John and Michael Whitaker are entered to compete and support the young horse classes as is Michael’s son Jack, one of the many rising stars in the family dynasty.

Harriet Nuttall, a team Voltaire Design rider travels north to compete while the in-form Matt Sampson will be supporting his, and title sponsor Equitop.

Talented brothers, Will and Oliver Fletcher, also in the Voltaire Design stable of riders, return to Cheshire after recent successes while Irishman, Anthony Condon, a former winner of the Equerry Bolesworth International Grand Prix is on the start list.

Sisters Millie and Pippa Allen are well known for their speed against the clock and will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with throughout the five days.

Nottinghamshire-based, Louise Saywell has a growing string of young talent in her stable while local rider and producer, Keith Shore also makes the short trip to Bolesworth as does Equitop ambassador Corinne Collins and former Hickstead Derby winner Phillip Miller.

Supporting the world of producing and breeding are many well-known names with years of experience and knowledge behind them.

As well as the Billy Stud team, Shirley Light of Brendon Stud, Penny Cornish and Phillip Miller of Greenacres Equestrian, the Wright family of Windmill Farm Estate and Carron Nicol of European Sports Horses will all be in attendance as will Ashley and McKenzie Ray of Oakingham Stud.

The show will see the launch of two exciting new auctions; the Elite Ramiro B Auction, Wednesday 14th August, showcasing an exceptional selection of youngstock (foals – 3yrs) all progeny of the late great Ramiro B, and the Bolesworth AES Elite Foal Auction on Friday 16th August.

Leading industry experts and supporters include the Hales family of Shaw Farm Stud, Dave Quick of Ashdale Sports Horses, James Davenport and Janette Chin to name just a few who have added their weight to this exciting new show on the Bolesworth Estate.

One of the aims of the event is for it to become a hub for equestrian trade both within the UK and with the rest of the world, providing a trade centre of excellence for networking, buying and selling horses of Olympic calibre.

Tickets are now on sale at just £5 with free parking, when booked in advance online, giving event goers the chance to watch superb competition in an iconic setting, with access to view all Auctions and Young Horses that have been put forward for sale.

All general admission ticket holders will have access to Club Boles with food served all day into the evening and premium bars open till late.

Hospitality tickets are also available in the VIP area in Club Boles with tables for up to 10 people.  Bookings under six people will be allocated to shared tables.
