There’s a real treat in store for eventing fans coming up on Horse & Country (H&C). From the 22nd to the 25th October, every phase of Les 5 Étoiles de Pau will be live on H&C’s streaming service, H&C+, with exclusive English commentary.

With Pau being the only 5* event to run this season it’s no surprise that there’s a truly international and star-studded field. Representing the UK are top riders including World Champion Ros Canter and current world-ranked number one Oliver Townend, along with Piggy March, Tom McEwen, Laura Collett and Nicola Wilson.

There’s a strong field from France, the host nation, including Olympic team gold medallist Karim Laghouag. And there’s a host of top international riders such as Christopher Burton, Caroline Powell, Tim Price and Jonelle Price.

According to eventing data analysis experts EquiRatings, Laura Collet and London 52 are the slight favourites, with a 14% chance of winning, but it’s tight, with Piggy March and Brookfield Inocent just one point behind. And Laura has a second highly fancied run on Mr Bass at 9%, so 2020 could be her year.

Jonathan Rippon, Director of Content for H&C commented; “We’re delighted to have been able to bring our members so much live eventing during this difficult year. It’s great to be able to round off the season with exclusive coverage of this exceptional 5* event. We’re already planning even more eventing for 2021.”

The live stream of Les 5 Étoiles de Pau can be viewed on H&C+ from the 22nd to the 25th October. Days one and two feature the dressage whilst Saturday is all about the excitement of the cross country phase. The action is rounded off with showjumping on Sunday.  And for those unable to watch live, H&C+ members will be able to see all of the action from each day of competition on-demand the following day. H&C+ membership is just £5.99 a month, with no contract required.
