Louise Saywell and her long-time partner, Feigtling ran out the winners in the Equestrizone CSI2* Two Phase 1.30m at the Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championships.

Securing the class with nearly a second to spare from James Whitaker and Wallstreet VB, Louise and the 14-year-old are having a great season.

Said Louise: “He’s a great horse against the clock and is very adaptable.  We keep him fresh by not over-facing him, jumping a ranking class then a speed to just make sure he is sweet and enjoying the job. He always tries one hundred per cent and we are having a really good year.”

Annabel Shields described Wet Wet Wet as her ‘best friend’ when winning the John Whitaker International CSI2* Two Phase 1.35m.

This longstanding partnership of five years skipped round in a time of 25.42 seconds to keep Matthew Sampson in second place on Firefly W.

Said Annabel: “He’s had a bit of time off so we are just getting going again before moving on to the bigger tracks.

“You shouldn’t really have favourites but he really is my best friend and such a star, I wouldn’t be without him.”

Jake Saywell and the chestnut Touch of Chilli claimed first place in the Bolesworth CSI2* Two Phase 1.45m in a time of 26.58 seconds.

Together for three years, Jake and the 15-year-old compete at two and three star level with the talented gelding forming part of his top string.

Annabel Shields was once again in the line-up, her Bolesworth form hitting the right notes with second place for Creevagh Carisma while Chelsea Skelton and Caramba finishing in third.
