Nikki Hitchen from Nottinghamshire currently owns two ponies, Blue Savannah and Jazz. She feeds one product, Mollichaff Calmer Complete to both her horses with different needs.

Said Nikki: “I saw Mollichaff Calmer Complete in our local feed store when I was stabling the ponies over bonfire night as I'd been looking at calmers because of the fireworks.

“Jazz is very anxious and still nervous at times due to the neglect and abuse he suffered as a foal. I think the Mollichaff Calmer Complete feed is definitely helping to keep him relaxed.”

Savannah had laminitis in the summer and Mollichaff Calmer Complete is also suitable for Laminitics.

Added Nikki: “This is great news for me as it means less stress, I don't have to go buying different feeds for each of them and it's a very good price too.”

Blue Savannah, known as Savannah in the stable, is a 22-year-old bay New Forest pony standing at 13.3hh. When Nikki was 17-years-old she broke her in and trained her for some friends as an unhandled four-year old straight off the forest.

Said Nikki:  “We had an amazing bond but unfortunately I couldn't buy her when my friends put her up for sale. She went onto eight other show jumping homes over the years, taking various children up through the ranks, winning all the way. Jumping is the thing she loves the most.

“I was very lucky that my partner managed to buy her back for my birthday in 2019 after 14 years apart - a real fairy tale but that's another story in itself!”

Jazz is a nine-year-old Piebald Cob standing at 13.2hh, he was a rescue at six months old in very poor condition. Nikki and Jazz enjoy hacking out round the beautiful quiet countryside.

Said Nikki: “He's definitely not your typical ploddy cob to ride!”

“Everyone that's ever ridden him has fallen off because he's so sharp, most don't attempt a second ride. However his current rider has stuck with him and we've both noticed a massive difference in his behaviour since he's been on Mollichaff Calmer Complete. He's now pretty chilled when ridden and no longer a coiled spring, he still likes to be in front but he's nowhere near as anxious or spooky.

Said Nikki: “My biggest achievement with both ponies is that I trained both of them from being unhandled all by myself and seeing how far they have come makes me very proud!”

Nikki first came across Mollichaff a couple of years ago. She used to feed Applechaff from the Mollichaff range to bulk up Jazz's feeds as a youngster but since finding out that Mollichaff Calmer Complete is suitable for both of her horses and can be fed as a sole bucket feed she doesn’t use anything else.

Said Nikki: “Both ponies love this feed and clear their buckets every day. It does exactly what it says on the bag, for us it ticks all the boxes.”
