Foot perfect at the Longines Global Champions Tour

Martin Collins are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the contract to provide the surface for the Longines Global Champions Tour 2017, London Chelsea.

The event will take place at the prestigious Royal Hospital Chelsea in the heart of London, marking the return of the Tour to the United Kingdom. The high calibre event will feature the sport’s Olympic and World Champions as well as members of the London 2012 Olympic Games gold medal team. For the first time in history, the beautiful and historic grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea will host the event from 4th - 6th August.

Martin Collins will be installing the temporary surface into the centre of London, ensuring that this feat of logistics and engineering will give the world class show-jumping horses the foot perfect surface that they are used to competing on and that meets with the high standards of the premier international circuit.

The unique temporary surface created by Martin Collins is a mixture of sand and other components that is specially designed for world class equestrian competition. With only a few shorts days in which to create this foot perfect arena  the Martin Collins team  will prove once again that their experience and expertise in providing top level competition surfaces are what is needed for an event of this calibre.

With the venue itself famous for displaying floral events (Chelsea Flower Show) rather than showjumping, residents will be treated to the new sight of top sport horses in the grounds.

Friday 4th August will see the first top-level CSI5* competition underway, as well as the first round of the thrilling Global Champions League. Saturday 5th August will host the final of the Global Champions League ahead of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of London Presented by Sapinda, and Sunday 6th will see further top action from the world's top riders and horses in high octane CSI5* classes.
