Ireland’s only elite horse sale, run by riders, for riders, looks to build on the success of the 2021 hybrid virtual sale again this November.  The auction dedicated to 3-year-old potential event horses, run by 5* riders Niall Griffin (IRE), Polly Jackson (GB) and Bill Levett (AUS), once again welcomes buyers from around the world to Monart Equestrian, and The Monart Spa, from 7th – 8th November, for two viewing days.  The sale will then take place online during the 9th and 10th November.

The new hybrid format paid dividends in 2021 with a record-breaking year for the Monart Team.  A new record average price of €15,281 was set, along with a clearance rate that exceeded 82%.

“We have an incredible field of 3-year-olds this year.  When it comes to the selection window, each year we look back at previous sales as to what sold well.  We then try to build on that for the forthcoming sale, and that is exactly what we hope to see from this year’s lots.

The quality of horses presented for selection improves each year.  From over 300 horses we’ve whittled it down to 120 horses going through to the auction.  Honestly, the quality was so high we could have run two sales!

One new addition buyers can expect to see for the 2022 sale is the addition of back x-rays, which we hope will give buyers even more confidence in us.” confirmed sale Director, Niall Griffin.

In a new development for 2022 this year’s sale will be presented by Sprenger, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of bits.

“We’re delighted to have Sprenger on-board for this year, in what is a new step in commercial partnerships for the sale.  I’ve personally used Sprenger bits in all 3-phases of competition for the past 20-years, including at Olympic and World Championship level.  Sprenger have always done the job, with no gimmicks, and supported horses from the young ones, to the very top of the sport” confirmed Niall.

Monart has attracted a plethora of notable buyers over the years including Olympic Champion Michael Jung (GER), Olympic Gold Medallists Oliver Townend (GBR), Laura Collett (GBR), Astier Nicholas (FRA), 5* Champion Caroline Powell (NZL), Karl and Katlyn Slezak (CAN) as well as UK based Irish senior team riders Austin O’Connor and Susie Berry.

The 2022 sales catalogue is due for release in late September with full sales videos available to view via www.themonartsale.com from early October.  Prospective buyers are required to register in advance of the sale, whether they are intending to attend in person or online.
