Kate Negus Saddlery is delighted to add the Elastic Grackle to its range of specialised nosebands. A product designed with International Event Rider Kitty King.

The Kate Negus Elastic Grackle combines English leather with special elastic selected by the company and sheepskin padding at the point that the elastic straps cross on the nose, for comfort. This noseband has been designed in collaboration with Kitty King, who uses an Elastic Grackle.

“We’re excited to be able to add this new noseband to our range,” says Julia Andrews, Managing Director of Kate Negus Saddlery. “Due to how we operate, we’re able to make more specialised products as our customers need them, with a lead time of just three weeks, so it gives us plenty of scope to offer more unusual pieces of tack. The Elastic Grackle that we’ve created comes in two styles to allow it to be used with a regular headpiece or with our Grand Prix version (which features integral noseband hangers), to give even more flexibility. We’ve known Kitty for years and have enjoyed working with her on this item. As a rider who uses the product, her feedback has been invaluable and helped us to create something really special.”

“The Elastic Grackle is perfect for horses that need the action of a grackle, but don’t like the restriction of a leather noseband,” says Kitty. “I find it a really useful piece of tack.”

The Elastic Grackle noseband is available in black and chestnut, in sizes cob and full. It’s available with buckles on both sides to work with a headpiece featuring integral noseband hangers (such as Kate Negus’ Grand Prix), or can be purchased with an additional sliphead to make it suitable for regular headpieces. Prices start at £50.
