Sue Norton is New President for Society of Master Saddlers
Sue Norton has been appointed as the new President of the Society of Master Saddlers.

Well-known throughout the industry and with a successful career running C.H. Brown & Son Saddlery in Oxford – Sue also heads up the saddle fitting business Saddle Doctors with her husband Mike.
Sue will work closely with the Chief Executive, Hazel Morley, and the Executive Committee, along with the sub-committees over the coming year and was appointed to this new position at the Society of Master Saddlers’ AGM held at York Racecourse.
Sue takes over from Ken Lyndon Dykes, with Chris Taylor moving into the Vice President’s role. Sue has already had a busy few months having taken on an ‘Acting President’s’ position due to Ken’s ill health.
Said Sue: “I am honoured and proud to be the new Society of Master Saddlers’ President.
For a number of years I have had the opportunity to sit in on many meetings with the Executive Committee and Officers who have incredible knowledge and skills.
The aim is to constantly offer improvements to support our members and I hope to continue that journey.
The last year has seen an acceleration of progress and we look to further that work over the next 12 months.”
With the appointment of the Society of Master Saddlers’ Development Office, Catherine Morris and the new Saddle Fitting Training Manager, Alastair Sutherland, the society is in a very strong position to move forward and develop new avenues to grow and develop further.
The President remarked “We welcome new members to the Executive Committee and I would like to thank those who have stepped down for their wonderful work.”
