There are times in your life when new goals or challenges hit the spot! And for 35 year-old Paul Gardner 2016 is the year when he has set himself two fundraising initiatives for the Mark Davies Injured Riders’ Fund.
Paul plans to run the London Marathon and the Race to the Stones 100k Ultra Marathon, which takes place along one of the oldest footpaths in Britain, from the Chilterns in Oxfordshire to the North Wessex Downs. Along the way he will take in some of the UK’s most breath-taking scenery and pass world-famous landmarks.
Londoner Paul was inspired to help raise funds for the charity after a family friend suffered a head injury from a bad fall onto concrete, several years ago. After being in a coma for two months, she was left with severe brain damaged and in need of round the clock care. With the support of carers she managed to return home but sadly died last year.
Paul says, “I would like to raise money for the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund to help others in such a situation receive the best treatment and care possible.”

Tickets are also still available for the prize draw to win £1000. To enter all you have to do is buy a ticket costing £5, from the Mark Davies Injures Riders Fund website.
Every penny generated from the sale of the tickets will go towards helping the Fund to support more injured riders. Mark Davies Injured Riders’ Fund is fully funded by donations from the public, and demand for their support is ever increasing.
Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund is a charity set up to help those that have been affected by a horse related accident, in the form of access to legal advice, practical help, such as providing a wheelchair or simple moral support to both the victims and their families.
