Supported by Uvex Sarah said: “The weekend at Somerford was testing with the weather as there were several monsoon like showers but we were still able to add a bit of extra sparkle with my ultra bling Uvex hat.”

Based in Knutsford with her partner Alex Hua Tian, the 31-year-old has been riding all her life.  After a short career as a young showing rider Sarah started competing in dressage from the age of 11-years-old and has never looked back.

Owned by Sarah Rao for the last eight months, Alfranco known as Alfie at home is a 14-year-old by Negro and stands at 16.2hh. He was trained to Grand Prix level by Gillian Davison who competed him very successfully at International Grand Prix.

Although Alfie is predominately ridden by owner Sarah Rao, winner Sarah Higgins was lucky enough to ride him as Sarah was away vlogging for the FEI in Saumur.

Said Sarah Higgins: “This was only my second time riding at Inter II level so I was absolutely delighted with the result.”

“This is definitely my biggest achievement with Alfie and my biggest ever win, I am very pleased with the result and the wonderful Cavalor rug that I won.”

Sarah Rao will now aim Alfie at some Under 25 Grand Prix’s although Sarah Higgins will be borrowing him for a short while in preparation for the National Championships.

Said Simon Middleton of Zebra Products, Cavalor distributor: “Congratulations to Sarah and Alfranco, the duo performed very well together. A very well done to Sarah for a personal best!”
