Stoneleigh Elite Equine Auction Returns Following Outstanding Debut Success

Following the outstanding success of its inaugural sale last November, the Stoneleigh Elite Equine Auction will return to Stoneleigh Park on the weekend of the 28th & 29th November 2026, once again bringing together some of the country's finest show animals.
Held alongside The Showing Register Amateur of the Year and the Showing World Awards, last year's auction attracted hundreds of spectators and buyers, with 30 elite ponies going under the hammer.
The success of the sale has already been reflected in the show ring. The auction's top-priced lot, Thistledown Blue Grass, sold for £10,500 before going on to qualify for Horse of the Year Show 2026 in the Mears-Wood Family Lead Rein Pony of Hunter Type of the Year at Midland Counties Show. Ridden by Florence Rendall, owned by Rachael Helliwell and led by Cassie Helliwell, the pony has demonstrated the calibre of animal presented at the inaugural auction.
Building on the success of the first event, Thistledown Stud will once again present a selection of outstanding ponies at Stoneleigh, while auctioneers Clee Tompkinson & Francis are inviting applications from owners and producers with ponies and horses of exceptional quality.
Vendor places are strictly limited, and only animals of genuine top-class quality will be selected. The auction is seeking horses and ponies that are already performing at the highest level or possess the quality, pedigree and presence to become future Horse of the Year Show stars.
Every entry will be carefully assessed to ensure potential buyers can expect an outstanding catalogue of elite animals.
