Riders from Collective Equestrian in Chew Magna have been out on form at recent regional championships at Keysoe (12th August).
Jonny Clarke-West and Zick Zack Toftegard scored 73% and took first place in the Medium before coming 4th in the Advanced medium on 70%. The pair now qualify for both classes at the Nationals next month.
Alex Harrison riding Diamond Hill finished 3rd in the Elementary with 67.9% and followed it up with 2nd place in the Novice class on 70.05%. Video snippets available here target="_blank">
Away from the regional successes, Collective Equestrian Apprentice Emily Jobling took her horse Harry to the BYRDS Home International final, competing in the Novice class she finished 3rd on a score of 71.7% which took her to 6th place overall. Emily is now aiming for Junior & Young Rider teams with the full support of her Collective colleagues. Always happy to support our local equestrian events, Alex & Liza travelled out to the Timsbury Show on 7th August, to judge before performing a demonstration. On the day, Collective scholarship applicant and pupil Caitlin Clanceyrode her pony Craftsman to the reserve champion title at the same event. Fellow client Brad Sanders, who has been training with Alex for over a year, has also seen his hard work come to fruition, “I never really enjoyed flat work and to be honest used to absolutely dread it prior to coming to Collective Equestrian and training with Alex. I came in the middle of winter to accompany a friend not long after Collective had opened, needless to say I have been coming regularly ever since.” Says Brad. Brad and his own horse Max took to the dressage arena for their first time at Mendip Plains last week (28th August) and rode stunning tests to come home with 1st and 3rd. The Collective Equestrian Young Rider Scholarship application process has now come to a close and we are delighted to confirm that Caitlin Clancey and Frankie Sommerfeld have jointly been awarded a 12 month scholarship to Collective Equestrian. Each benefit from free training and livery worth £500 each. As well as this, they then receive subsidised lessons for the remainder of the scholarship year. As well as this a number of riders enjoy training bursaries of subsidised lessons for the remainder of the scholarship year.
