It’s often said that knowledge is power, with this is in mind the Equine Learning Zone at Your Horse Live offers advice from leading equine experts, bringing learning to life, all under one roof.

Following its success in 2013, this year’s Equine Learning Zone will be packed with experts from a range of different equestrian backgrounds.

Returning for a second year, Larry Bensusan will be enlightening us on what your horse is thinking, how they see the world and why they do certain things, while Russell Guire from Centaur Biomechanics will be helping you to improve your position in the saddle.

Margrit Coates will be answering questions on animal healing and communication while Melanie Watson of Instinctive Horse Training will be offering advice on using clicker training and positive reinforcement with horses.

With all things veterinary in mind, vet Gil Riley of Pool House Equine Clinic in Lichfield, Staffordshire will be giving his expert advice on identifying lameness and preventing laminitis, while Nicky Jarvis, Senior Vet at Redwings Horse Sanctuary, will be speaking about the care of veteran horses.

Giving advice on getting riders into tip-top condition will be human performance coach Jon Pitt. Jon will be passing on his wealth of experience gained over 10 years working as an advisor to the Professional Jockeys Association and as part of Team GB’s World Class Performance Programme.

Farrier Jodi Beard will be covering all manner of farrier related topics, such as foot balance and hoof problems. One of very few female farriers in the UK, Jodi comes from a family of farriers and is sure to bring with her some interesting stories of working in a male dominated industry.

The British Horse Society will be on hand to give a thought provoking talk on preparing to say the final goodbye to your horse, a subject often not discussed but one that will inevitably affect all horse owners at some point.

The Equine Learning Zone at Your Horse Live will be fun yet informative meaning visitors will not only leave with bags full of goodies bought in the shopping halls but also some valuable new knowledge too!
