Wocket Woy & The Pwoducer, aka jump jockeys Mattie Batchelor and Marc Goldstein, are getting set for Horse of the Year Show following an appearance at the British Showjumping National Championships & Stoneleigh Horse Show on Saturday 12th August. The comedy duo set off around the showgrounds of the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire with one main mission – to try and qualify for Horse of the Year Show held at the NEC in Birmingham, 4th – 8th October.

With the 1.30m show jumps looking a little too daunting, Wocket Woy tried his hand at a Working Hunter course. Looking quite out of place riding Harry (a Thoroughbred x Irish Draught) amidst the Mountain & Moorland ponies, Wocket Woy had both spectators and officials in fits of laughter as he tackled the course, greatly encouraged by his co-pilot The Pwoducer. Unsuccessful in their mission to qualify for HOYS, the pair then pretended to bribe the judge and pay their way into the show.

Emma Wardell, Event Director for Grandstand Media Ltd, explained: “We were delighted to have Wocket Woy & The Pwoducer at the British Showjumping National Championships & Stoneleigh Horse Show for the day. They were incredibly popular amongst both spectators and competitors and they brought a great element of fun to the show. We would like to thank David Froggatt, Edward Young and Collette McGoldrick for kindly lending Wocket Woy his showing attire for the day. Whilst this was filmed for promotional purposes and the qualification was not real, the pair will be attending Horse of the Year Show on Sunday 8th October for a ‘Meet & Gweet’ so we look forward to having them at the show once again.”
